The wireless accesspoint in my home have security settings called "shared keys". I do not know much about the security settings, but I do know that I need to set up a shared key. I this connection, I have a couple of questions. What is a 40 bit and 128 bit shared key? When I activiate the key on the wireless accesspoint, my iPAQ does not find the wireless net. Obviusly because it does not have any keys entered. In PPC2002 ir was easy to enter the share key name, but i PPC2003 I can not find this setting any more. Can someone please help me in directing toward the rigth place in PPC2003 where I can enter the key information?

Thank you in advance,
Regards,
Imran

Look at this DSL Reports thread for a discussion of this...

If your using WEP then use 128-bit WEP versus 64-bit (the same as 40-bit). Note that if your systems support WPA, then that is the better way to go. For a nice explanation of WPA look a this page...

FYI, I use WPA-PSK (with a very long random key) at home with an iPAQ 5555 PocketPC and a Buffalo WBR-G54 wireless access point/broadband router...

What PocketPC and what wireless card, if its not built-in to the PPC, are you using? With the WM2003 OS Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) you need the wireless radio turned on to access the wireless network properties, ie. encryption methods, keys, etc...

HP has an excellent document concerning WiFi for various iPAQ PPCs.
