I just bought a Logitech BT headset with BT 1.2 support. Do I need a 1.2 BT dongle in order to have a good sound using VOIP programs like skype, msn, etc ?

Bluetooth 1.2 shouldn't improve the sound quality much. It helps in discovering performance, reduces conflicts with other technologies (like wireless LAN). Your Bluetooth headset should work just the same with a standard Bluetooth dongle.
