I have a skinny jump router trying to port forward to use security cameras online.

 

 

 

I have been trying using special applications in the router and freedns using web forward.

 

 

 

Not getting it to work any suggestions please

Chances are you’re on CG-NAT so forwarding will not be possible. You using Skinny’s wireless 4G broadband? It’s on CG-NAT.

The most insecure thing on the internet are security devices.

 

If you are using skinny 4G then this will be CG-Nat and wont work, I dont thing Skinny use CG-NAT for their UFB offering but I really donk know.

 

The best and safest way to do this is to use a VPN.

DO NOT port forward to security cameras. There are some very serious security risks if you do.

Instead, look at replacing it with a solution that doesn't require any port forwarding like Ring.

Skinny jump is 4G FWA (CGNAT) with no static ip option, which is perfect for it's targeted base.

 

 

 

If you require a static ip, likely you need a bit more than Skinny Jump.

As others have said port forwarding for cameras (or other IOT devices) is generally considered a huge security risk. If you have a bit of technical aptitude, you can roll your own solutions to allow remote access (VPN, proxy servers, etc depending on your needs), if you don't I strongly suggest you either use a prebuilt ecosystem (e.g. Ring as mentioned) or pay someone with a clue to set something up for you.
