Just got my 100m Widcomm class 1 based dongle, but I having problems following the geekzone guide to access the internet.

My system is already set up to access a router (configured automatically through XP Pro) the trouble occurs when I try to enable ICS as set out in the guide as it says that the IP needed for ICS is already in use and that it cannot proceed :(

How can I sort it out :(

Here are some screen shots

ICS will only work if the To side of the sharing is using the address 192.168.0.1. Since your router is probably configured to use this address you have a few options:

  • manually change the current network configuration to free up this address. This may include changing the router to another address like 192.168.1.1 and then configuring its built-in DHCP server to hand out address in this new range
  • use Windows XP Bridge which will require manual configuration on the client side
  • use a third party software like NAT32 (we have instructions on the Bluetooth Guides on how to configure it).

You don't say what client you'll be using - Pocke PC, Palm, Pocket PC or another computer.

I expect it will probably be easier just to change the current network, but would have preferred not to. I did try NAT32 but I didnt find the instructions detailed enough with my totally limited networking ability :( In the report they mentioned something about some Kerio software, is that easier to use? Oh and sorry im on pocket pc 2003

I would give a try to NAT32. It seems easier to configure than Kerio's Winrouter... Besides that, Kerio is one of the companies that never replied to my e-mails asking for some information - this tells us a lot about their customer service and support.

I did have a look, the instructions said 2 highlight the bluetooth network and lan network in nat32, but there were about 30 things listed there and only 1 could be selected at a time.
