Hi All

After weeks of trying managed to get activesync with Bluetooth working with XP SP2.
The website below was excellent.

http://www.amset.info/pocketpc/sync-bluetooth.asp

Still a couple of issues, that I hope people can advise with.

1.. When I right click the bluetooth icon in the taskbar and try to send a file to the PDA via this, I get told that it was not successful, and I need a file push service installed??? Anybody any ideas. I can send files over personal area networking OK, when I create one.

2.. Does anybody know how to get the internet to automatically connect, when using the PDA. At the min I have to log on, and connect to the internet for internet, E-Mail and MSN to work.

Many Thanks

Chris

when you connect with Bluetooth, what do youdo?

The reason I ask, is that after I got Windows XP service Pack 2, I was able to get my devices connect using Bluetooth. Previously, because my notebook was from Sony, I could only connect using wireless LAN. But strangely, it seems that when I try to switch between the two, because I am still trying to test the settings, it would fail sometimes.

For example, sometimes the computer would need to rest for maybe a minute before it could successfully connect after a switch.

Or maybe the pocket PC needs to have a soft reset for the Bluetooth to work after using the wireless LAN.

Since the Internet connection only seems to work through Bluetooth and not through wireless LAN, I guess that is the way to go. At the moment, I have to turn on the Bluetooth on the computer, and then go into the Bluetooth manager on the pocket PC and activate the active sync. but I thought someone had once said that when a Bluetooth devices comes into range, it should be able to connect automatically without using the icons.

after all, Bluetooth is supposed to be low energy use,so we can leave it on all the time right ?

When I access the internet via my PDA, I first have to switchon and login to the PC, and then connect to the ADSL service. I then activate activesync vioa the PDA, and from then I can access the internet, my E-Mails and MSM messenger. If you right click on the bluetooth icon in the taskbar, you can also set up a personal area network to send files etc. From what I have read on this forum and others SP2 bluetooth drivers does not support LAN access (typical), and its a real pain, ive found to get manufacterers drivers to work in SP2, so I have resigned myself to this way of access.

By the way, anyone got any suggestions for my questions????

Chris
