i cant get my bluetooth too work on my acer aspire 1640z with vista i cant find it in my device maneger and when i press my bluetooth button on laptop it does nothing?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????please help

Not all Acer laptops have Bluetooth bult-in, and your seems to be one of these. You will have to purchase an Acer Bluetooth module or a USB Bluetooth adapter.

i do have bluetooth i have the button for it and it is right next too the wireless button and i have recently installed vista and since then it hasent worked it used too work

If you are absolutely sure it worked before (have you had it paired with other devices, have you used with a mobile phone?) then you have to visit the Acer website and look for the appropriate drivers.

Most Acer models are "Bluetooth Ready". It means the button is there, the software is installed but the actual Bluetooth hardware is not available.

As Mauricio said, it's possible that your Acer is Bluetooth ready, but doesn't have the module installed.

The white label on the base on the unit will say whether Bluetooth is installed on your particular model. Something similar to the following:
