We currently have an old B618 that we use with Skinny 4G at our bach. We also have a surplus to requirements Spark Smart Modem 2 gathering dust at home.

Is there a way get the Spark Smart Modem 2 to work with Skinny 4G Wireless? I recall asking Skinny once if it was possible and they said no, but i doubt that is the case.

I haven't tried just putting the sim in the SM2, but surely it wouldn't be that simple if they said no

This all depends on the IMEI Blocking Range of the Simcard you have - FWA Sims are restricted to certain IMEI ranges

Thanks for the reply

Would that be an issue if all i was doing was taking the SIM out of the old Skinny B618 and putting it into the Spark Smart Modem at the B618's location?

Or, are you effectively saying the Skinny sim will be locked to the B618 device?

The TAC blocking was stopped on newer SIM cards

@potsiea Just try the SIM card in your mobile phone and see what happens! If it connects to the network then no issue if it comes with a TAC / IMEI error then you know SIM card is TAC locked

Request a new SIM card and that will not be TAC locked
