I have reviewed the guides, and ICS seems to be the way to go for Palm/PPC to dongle to internet. But, I have a router...

I have DSL, a router/wireless access connected to it, an XP home PC (with Belkin Bluetooth dongle) on ethernet to the router, and a bunch of wireless clients.

I am trying to get a Clie TG50 to connect to the internet via the Belkin Bluetooth dongle. I have read the Clie posts, and will use the fixes in there.

I didn't really want to start up ICS, as I had the impression it wasn't compatible with the router. I have tried MochaPPP. I am about to try WinRoute. I'd rather avoid either, if I can set up ICS on the desktop with the dongle and use the router too...

Can anyone help out here? I have read the guides, and can probably configure most things that are the same as the guides, but I haven't found anything that is clear using an intervening router. Thanks!

I use a router at home as well, with a couple of dekstops (W2k and Mac OS) and a laptop (W2k) connected. The only conflict between the router and ICS is the subnet.

Providing your router is on anything different of 192.168.0.x and giving addresses different from 192.168.0.x you're ok with ICS. If your router is in this range, then you better with Winrouter.

MochaPPP is ok, but will not work in some conditions. ICS is not as bad as it may appear, works very well and it's not complicated to configure like Winrouter, which is a true router/firewall/nat software.

Wow, that was easy - this is from Clie in the living room. Checked the router, it was already doing DHCP on a non-conflicting range. But, using the sharing wizard had bridged everything, which removed the ICS tab from the lan card. Redid the wizard specifying only the lan card, voila ICS shows up, turned it on, and Clie connected first time using all the setup I had gone through before. Super. Thanks so much for your help.

Goodness! This is probably the quickest from 0 to connected report I've seen...
