Hi all,

Seems like a few people here are using the HID profile of the new WIDCOMM 1.4.x stack with various adapters. What's the performance like? I tried my Bluetake adapter with the Microsoft drivers (just for a laugh) and it worked although very slowly. I wanted to check that it was the mismatched drivers rather than something special about the MS adapter.

Can anyone recommend a PCMCIA adapter to use with the mouse/keyboard?

I should mention that Bluetake haven't released drivers based on WIDCOMM 1.4.x yet (they're still evaluating them apparently), otherwise I'd be able to answer my own question. ;)

I've tried with beta drivers from TDK. The keyboard is awesome, but the mosue seems to "sleep" now and then. I will test again with the official 1.4 release, the I'll have a final idea. Until them, I can say it works.

Sounds mildly encouraging... What do you mean by "sleep"? Is it like anything you've experienced with the MS adapter?

The way the Bluetooth HID works is like this: the devices are not connected, but paired. As soon as you move the mouse or press any key, a connection is initiated.

Works great with the Keyboard, but it seems that every 60 seconds the mouse sleeps. You notice this when you move it, and the pointer on the screen takes half a second to start moving.

It didn't happen when using the Microsoft adapter on XP, but it happened when using the TDK beta software.

It could be my specific mouse configuration of course. You might want to try yourself.

Yup, I get that with the MS adapter, athough I think it takes longer than a minute to go to sleep...
