Recently i bought a Nokia 7650 and a USB Dongle.

I connected the Dongle upto my PC (Widcomm?). Anyway after i installed the drivers i get 2 icons, one is the Bluetooth neighbourhood one and the other is the Network icon. The Network icon has a big "X" going across it.

I installed the Nokia software PC Suite but everytime i load it up it says "This is the first time you have used PC Suite, Please attach your Nokia 7650 to the PC and click ok to continue".

Only problem is i "connected" the phone to the PC using Bluetooth.

When i right click on the bluetooth icon in the taskbar and select "Bluetooth Setup Wizard" i click on the first option, then ask for the Network Access. It then scans my surroundings for devices but then it doesnt show anything up (Show network access points).

When i select "Show all Devices" in the drop down menu my phone shows up, so i click on it and click OK but then i get an error message saying "Device Nokia7650 does not support Network Access".

But it should?!

Could someone please get me out of this hole please... i need to gain access to this phone.

Cheers

Take the second option in the wizard. It's not a network device but a "Bluetooth serial device". Of couse you can still use first option but this way it scans the phone for availble services.
Then you have to open the mrouter from nokia (one of the strange icons in taskbar) and select the com ports it should monitor for connection(usually com 3 but to be safe select all with bluetooth).
Then it should work.
But this is the point where the trouble really starts, if you think(like i did) now you can edit phonebook, transfer sms and so on with pc-suite. ...

good luck

Grey, follow this article to the letter and it should work. I also connect my Nokia 3650 via Bluetooth only, and it's fine.
