Hello:
I got my Jabra 250v BT headset paired with my laptop (well, I hope I got them paired, as the headset appears as a Audio Devise in the BT Devise contral of my laptop). But I can neither record nor replay any sound from/to the headset. Has anybody an idea? Thanks

It depends on what software/hardware you have on your laptop. It must support Bluetooth headset profile, and this is the case with 3COM adapters.

Also, some older hardware do not have the support for this profile even if the software provides it, and this is the case with some old Belkin adapters.

If you are using a relatively new adapter (one year) and the correct software (Widcomm 1.3 and up, or IVT BlueSoleil) then it should work. Note that using 3rd party software is not the best option, since they are tied to some hardware and will not work without changes in the installation files.

Once you connect the devices, open the Bluetooth control panel, double-click the icon corresponding to the headset and connect. You will hear a beep on the headset, like an incoming call. Click the button and once connected open the Sounds control (Control Panel) and check that both In/Out are using the Bluetooth audio drivers.

So, as you said, I got the headset paired with my laptop and heared a beep on the headset. In the BT control panel, an icon corresponding the headset appears as Passkey enabled. But the connection status is not displayed (If I do a synchronization between laptop and my mobile phone the phone icon gets the status Connected). When I click or double-click the headset icon, nothing happens. And in the Sounds control I can't find the BT headset device for either In/Out.
Regarding the software/harware, I'm using an 1-month-old Del laptop. How can I figure out which software is used on my laptop and if the hardware/software support the Bluetooth headset profile?

Right-click the icon corresponding to the headset in your Bluetooth list. You should see a list of services there. If there's not a list, then double-click the icon and on the next page hit refresh (F5). It should now show the services - probably just one, the headset profile.

Double-click this service to connect. Only then you will hear the beeps on your headset and after pressing the Accept Call button on your headset then your connction is established.

Once you have them connected then you can check the Control Panel | Sounds.

For software version, right-click the Bluetooth icon on the system tray and select Advanced Configuration (if available). There you will find version information, although by the sound of it it should be pretty new.

Hm... The service list of the my BT headset is empty (but services are listed for my mobile phone). Is this a matter of the hardware/software? The hardware of the BT device on my latop are Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and Dell Wirelss 350 Bluetooth Module. Both use driver from Microsoft.

This software does not support headset profile, hence no service listed...

Depending on what hardware Dell uses on their built-in Bluetooth, yes - but not without some hacking in the configuration and installation files. I strongly recommend you create a Restore Point now, just in case you try installing any other drivers you find on the Internet - the chances of not working and completely disabling the correct driver are there.

I did. It seems that I have connection, I hear the beep on the headset and click the button. Bluesoleil shows the connection but still no audio!! Are you sure it is possible??

Yes, I am sure it is possible. You should have another thread for your problem - we don't known what hardware or software version you have, and your problem could possibly be completely different from the original poster.
