Hello,

I'm feed up with belkin. I will never buy another belkin product, their support is hopeless.

So I'm in the market for a new BT dongle, which is the best/best supported?

It's all personal preference, really. I like TDK and Bluetake.

IMO, I've found D-Link's email and phone support to great. Emails have been responded to within 24 hours and no long wait times to speak with technical support.

Also, they seem to keep the most current on their drivers (as compared to other vendors) and supply current guides & manuals in their support area. AFAIK, D-Link was the first major vendor to release and support the latest Widcomm version 1.4.

To be fair, they may have rushed this release without more thorough testing. It's been reported that the LAN Access service has a bug and requires authentication every time; however, I don't require this with my 3650 and my headset and there is a registry fix.

Also, in fairness, the 1.3 drivers would provide me (and most users) with the services/profiles needed for mobile, PDA and headset connectivity. Remember that 1.4 only adds HID support for Bluetooth keyboard, mouse & joystick.

I should also add that my first adapter was the TDK and it's also an excellent choice. I purchased the D-Link for a more compact laptop solution. The D-Link adapter is similar in design to the Bluetake (i.e. key ring "flash drive" look).

The TDK USB adapter is a dongle which is attached to the USB cable. Great for desktop, but too much "hanging" and another unneeded cord for "on the road"....at least for my preference. The D-Link comes with a USB cord extension to maximize range, but I never use it.

BTW, gave the TDK to a close friend. She travels quite a bit for business and wouldn't consider using another adapter for her PDA, mobile and PC connectivity.
