Hi all,

I got my MS desktop combo(keyboard & mouse) 2 months ago, the reason i bought these is because i thought it can supoort bluetooth device like Mobile phone. I recently bought SW T610 and I was unable to use it with the SW software(image editor and the mobile phone monitor), even my dongle regonize my phone(but i can't do anything)....
and then i search, search and search and finally i got to this site...
it seem to me that MS dongle can't send or receive file from my T610 coz MS doesn't support some sort of Profile or protocol...
I read that i can use a little trick to change the driver(BTW 1.4.1.6) on my computer. Some ppl said it work fine and some ppl didn't.... I assume it work,
but can anyone tell me after i did all the work, my SW mobile phone monitor will work(which i can send and receive file from my T610) ????????????
the reason i ask it's because i wanna see if anyone did that b4.... i don't wanna mess with my driver and all these, and finally it doesn't work....

Can anyone help??

Thank you very much!!!!

HimHim,

For primer on Bluetooth, have a look in the "Bluetooth Guides" section on this website.

Microsoft's software (i.e. drivers) for its Bluetooth keyboard and mouse supports a limited number of services. Unfortunately, it does not support the main service (i.e. Serial Port Profile) that your T610 uses to connect with a pc.

Widcomm 1.4 drivers should work if you can install them properly. Please note that you require 1.4 since the release supports the HID profile for your desktop set. You will have to obtain these drivers from another vendor and most are now securing their software to protect their R&D and support investment.

I've read of some (after much work) that have been successful using other vendor's drivers and I've read of others who have not. The problem is that you must go to forums, newsgroups, etc. to work out your technical issues. Usually not as efficient as a vendor's technical support structure.

Hope this helps.

P.S. With Bluetooth products, make sure you check the profiles offered in the specs. and user feedback as found on this website to ensure compatability.

Chrismax is right about the Microsoft drivers.

My recommendation is, if possible and if you want it, return the Microsoft product and get a USB adapter to connect your mobile phone. Or if you really want a Bluetooth mouse and keyboad wait a little and get the Logitech new products - they support the needed profiles and work on Windows 2000 as well.

Fiddling with drivers, hex editors and other stuff can work - or can make your computer a mess and new drivers might not work after that.

Ok... Have a look in our Bluetooth forum, one of the top posts is a mini-guide for this procedure.
