MS Wireless Transciever 4r Bluetooth 2.0 <----- This is my dongle and i use it with the optical keyboard elite for BLUETOOTH.

this dongle has recently stopped working.
In device manager it shows an error code 10 which says it cannot start.

In the control panel under the bluetooh devices applet there are no devices at all.

Nor can it find and add any neither.

If i try turning on the discovery option and error message appears saying that windows cannot save the following settings due to an error occuring.

My nokia 6630 can find my mouse and keyboard but this dongle when connected to any USB port on my machine cant find nothing. PERIOD.

This same dongle has the same problems on my sisters brand new, day old laptop.

The ms error code database suggest that the driver needs updating or replacing but with what ????

Any ideas for a suitable driver for this dongle ....

Have you tried installing any new software before this stopped working? Tried changing the drivers?

If this adapter is not working in two computers, and you have not incorrectly changed its drivers then I'd say it is faulty.

If you tried changing the drivers and it failed, then is another story.

WOW, thanks for the reply ................................................

You sound about right ......................... as my sisters laptop didn't like it neither a message came up saying that an error occured and hasn't been properly installed. << Or sumthing to that effect !!!

You right, i haven't changed drivers and nor 'ave i installed any software lately. As i always leave System Restore feature on and for the past few days and weeks there nothing but checkpoints. As software make their own. The dongle and the MS BT drivers worked for so long and i have basic use for it. The MS BT stack is all i need. So what am saying is, i never even considered changing or updating the drivers for it let alone even thgt abt it.

MS support malarkey points out of conflicting devices ............... HUH the reason why i was given this bluetooth desktop keyboard under warrenty was of this issue. As my previous one played up alot and conflicted with other devices so MS were kind enough in sending me this one as a freebie. THEY sed i shun't 'ave no problems like that no more.

Anyway, here are the possiblities .................

PSP (Wi-Fi)
LogiTech G7 Mouse reciever
Nokia 6630 mobile phone
IIyama LCD TV remote and Hauppauge USB-WINTV remote !!!

I hardly think these can conflict with my bluetooth dongle ..................

I reckon its FAULTY !!!! and now i gotta wait till tuesday, after the bank holiday here in the UK, to call them up. As I'm NOT buying a new Dongle. I'm part of a gaming clan as well !!!!! what am gonna day for a few days now eh !!!!
