I have read a few topics on here regards wireless setups. I currently have a WAG160N which has clearly failed on the wireless side of things. I was looking to disable the wireless on it and move to something more stable. I came across the Ubiquitis Networks Rocket M2 wireless AP and am curious as to how difficult it is to setup with the WAG160N? I get 18-19mbps connection speed with the WAG160n so i'm reluctant to let it go for ADSL2+ performance but I really need wireless reliability in the N spectrum. I have laptops, pcs and ps3's connected to it and the WAG160N seems to fall over very easily.
I can part ways with the WAG160n but I would love some feedback on the AP? Is there anything similar which is just as good, (better model for example) 50+km range is insane.
Whats wrong with the wifi on your linksys? You might be able to reset and try to setup everything again? or replace the antenna?
Anyway, an AP these days is likely to be part of an Ethernet router that can cause "double NAT" problems if you use service that requires an open port for incoming traffic. Once you sort it out, it might give you some options if you move somewhere that doesnt need ADSL in future.
I dont think 50km wifi range is useful unless you have a directional antenna on the roof, I set my wifi to low power to reduce congestion with all the other wifi transmitters around.
