Hi all have followed the guides (with exception of putting IP and DNS addies for the card as I am not sure what to put having a router on the system and all.

Basically everthing works except actual web browsing via the PDA, I create the connection with my PC ok and the status is fine, signal just right etc, just no browsing, whatever site I visit it says page can not be found.

Please help

You might want to enter the router's IP as the gateway on the Bluetooth adapter, and the DNS address too. Give it a try.

Unless of course your router is 192.168.0.1 or there's another host in your network with this address and all in the same address space - then you'd have a conflict (but you say connection is ok, so I presume not).

It seems correct, and I would think that it's giving addresses in this range. So don't worry about IP conflict.

Please enter the DNS address in the Bluetooth adapter.

Also make sure your personal firewall (if running Zone Alarm, NIS or even the Windows XP internal one) is off. If it works without the firewall, you'll have to create rules to allow the Bluetooth communication.

Some observations and things to change:
  • The IP Address on the Bluetooth Adapter must be 192.168.0.1.
  • The DNS is not your router's address, but your real DNS server address.
  • The gateway can be left blank, or you can try the router's address.
