I have an PC, which has a USB TDK Adapter which I have managed to get paired to my Palm T|T. The problem lies when I try and send a audio file (.wav) to either the PC from the Palm or the Palm from the PC. Both give a message saying something like "the device does not provide the File Transfer service". This is really frustrating, as I would love to just Bluetooth individual files regardless of type between the PC and the Palm T|T.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to resolve this problem?

Many thanks

Just tested this with a Sony Clie UX50.

1.Paired the devices
2.Tried moving a file by drag-and-drop onto the Clie icon in My Bluetooth Places - Error no services found
3.Double-clicked the icon, services were found
4.Tried again, file was copied from my computer to the Palm device, and a prompt "Do you want to accept this application" showed up on the screen. Tap OK and the file was there.

I managed to copy and install a Palm .prc without even having Hotsync on this computer - very handy.

Hi, I followed the instructions and it still didn't work.

I managed to pair the device, but under Windows 2000 I couldn't drop any of the files under the bluetooth folder. I don't know any way around this. I do know that the Palm supports the OBEX push method, but I'm not sure how to use this. Can you help either sort this problem out or get the specification for the File Transfer/OBEX push and I can code up a driver? myself with a bit of help.

Did you try drag and drop on top of the icon corresponding to the Palm T|T, not to the space around it?

And just before moving the file there, you tried doing a service discover by double-clicking the icon?

I'll have a friend around here with a Palm, will try - it works on the Sony Clie.

Hi
I have the same problem, but I want to trasnfer files in both directions:

PALM -----> PC

PC -------> PALM

I have a Tungsten T, and a USB Bluetooth connection from Anyware.

When I try to connect from the PC tell me the same message like you "service file transfer"

I think the problem is with the autentification from the PALM, or may be we need a software to connect with the PALM to the PC.

I will wait an answer form some experience guy.

Thanks. Eugenio.

Guys, I think you can only transfer files from the PC to the Palm, by either using the drag-and-drop method or by using the right-click | Send To method.

The Palm doesn't have a File Transfer client to do this from the Palm to the PC.

Hi, i'm sure that's incorrect. The voicememo application on the Palm sends an application via bluetooth to the PC, I think it uses the OBEX (Object Exchange) protocol, but I'm not sure how to send via bluetooth using this protocol.

I'm agree with dmawer, but I don't know hor resolve it.

In other case, I must resolve first my problems connection between TUNSGTEN T and the PC. I'm sorry for a mistake of my Blue Dongle, is an USB ANYCOM, everything work properly on the PC, inclusive the PC connect with my phone (SIEMENS S55) without problems and permit file transfer (both directions) with drag and drop on the "My bluethoot places" (The utility tool of ANYCOM).

But the connections with the PALM are diferent, not appear any folder on the "My bluethoot places" desktop. I paired the PC and PALM without problems, but I canot acces to internet between the PC, and it's imposible to make a HotSynk throw Bluetooth conexion.

I follow all the steps marked in the Freitas's web, and it still doesn't work properly. The conexion exist, and the PC detect de PALM, but the handled still waiting all the time until the time of conexion expired.

¿Goshts?. My suppouse: my be possible to have a *.prc program missing on handled? Protocol between boht are diferent?
I hope a solution in the next chapter, thanks for your help.

Eugenio (and others), the Hotsync problem can only be related to the program listening the wrong COM port. Make sure the COM port it's waiting for is the SERVER COM Port. Then on your Palm, create a new Connection via Bluetooth, and on the Hotsync application use this new Connection, not the default one! This is very important, and a lot of people miss this.

About the network. Some configurations require you do enter the passcode every time - this is for security, but very annoying. If you're not close to your computer and enter the passcode in about five seconds, the connection times out.
