Hi,

I'm looking for a reliable DSL modem with MAC address access control on the LAN port(s).

Basically I want to lock it down so only the AP can get internet no matter who or what connects to it.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Only the AP? Do you mean you want to connect a wireless access point to this, and only have things able to connect through this AP?

You maybe able to do this with a Draytek Vigor 120. Using PPPoA - PPPoE bridge mode into the AP. Password protect the Draytek of course, then if anyone tried to connect anything else to the Draytek, it would drop PPP = no Internet.

I think this Draytek can also do "strict bind IP to MAC" which will only allow those MAC in this list to get Internet access.

Keeping in mind that mac spoofing is trivially easy, but depending on the switches used in the network may just make everything break for everyone if it is attempted.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm going with the D-Link DSL-526B

http://www.dlink.co.nz/products/?pid=803

It offers MAC filtering so as richms mentioned it won't be foolproof but it will offer a basic level of protection from unauthorised access.

The next step would be to secure the modems so they can't be physically accessed to connect to.
