Hi there,
A month or so ago i bought a Belkin F8T003 bluetooth dongle, this is the tiny little one with no arial. It cane with version 1.3.2.7 of the software on CD and installed and worked with no problem. I can sync my ipaq and connect to the net through it fine.

Then i decoded i wanted longer range so i bought a Belkin F8T001, this is the bigger one with the arial that says its got a 100m range (the other one only quotes 10m). I uninstall the F8T003 and install the F8T001, but i then noticed differences in the software and couldnt get internet access to work through it from the ipaq. The F8T001 comes with version 1.2.2.16of the software which does not seem to be anywhere near as good as the newer version.

I checked the Belkin site and there isnt a newer version avalible, in fact they dont have the 1.3.2.7 software for the F8T003 avalible! I decided to try using the CD from the F8T003 to install it, all seemed ok untill i plug the F8T001 in and it askes me for a licence key!

I phoned Belkin and they told me there is no new version for the F8T001. they gave me a licence key to try but they said they didnt know if it would work, and it didnt.

Is there some way to get updated software to work on the F8T001? Or some other software i can use? Any help would be good as this is very anoying.

Cheers,
James

The F8T001 has some limitations, and this is because of hardware and firmware, not only the drivers. There's a new version of this model available, without the antenna, and this is the one that would come with updated drivers.
