Hi there i have a friend who has just purchased a new laptop and he currently has wireless broadband at his house, He wants to get his laptop on wireless but he cant remember the security key.

However his PS3 is connected to it wirelessly so i was just wondering if he will be able to get it from his PS3 so he dont have to change any settings on his router

From what I can determine from some late night research it's not possible to reveal the Wireless key from a PS3, I don't have one so I can't really be sure but all attempts at googling solutions have drawn a blank. Is there a reason for him not wanting to manually check it from the router?

The only reason is because if he changes his password he didnt know if his PS3 would try and connect to it with the old wireless key

Some routers let you see the existing key. So log into the router and have a look.

If not, then only choice is to reset the password. Yes, the PS3 will try using the old one and just fail - update it to the new one, thats all.

Just reset the WiFi key, much easier that way.
