Hi,
The vodafone bit is a guess but....

I use opendns for internet filtering for my machines at home.
My router is setup to use the opendns addresses (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) and all my machines use my router address for resolving.

My opendns network matches my external ip address (which concurs with myipaddress.org). That address is setup in opendns to filter pornographic sites - and my opendns settings are set for dynamic addresses.

I use ddclient on one of my (linux) machines to update the network at opendns.

Everything looks fine - but opendns doesn't see any data coming from my network.

I recently switched to vodafone broadband at home - and I have a feeling it's since I did this that it's stopped working).

I test it by going to a blocked site (e.g. playboy.com) and it's getting there.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Cheers,
Ian

When you go to dnsomatic.com does it correctly show that you updater client is sending updates to OpenDNS?

And have you flushed out your DNS cache on all your computers? In Windows command prompt, its ipconfig /flushdns and I cannot remember what it is on linux sorry.

The only other thing I can think of is to check if they said to wait 24 hours or something before it sets up properly. I stopped using them a few months ago so I'm getting a bit rusty.

It worked about six months ago but I have also had problems with it these few months (also on Vodafone).

When I went to www.opendns.com/welcome it would say that I was not using OpenDNS but everything on my side was configured to use OpenDNS.

It's quite bizarre.

Decided to revert back to the default Vodafone DNS servers in the end.

There are other alternatives that can also block adult sites I think.

Hahaha! John stop destroying my innocent mind!

Do you know anything about the DNS issue?

Oh yeah, there is also DNS Advantage - that may be of help.

Can you ask then? :) Pretty please?

Hmm, I forgot, should have tried another DNS server to see if it only affected OpenDNS.
