Hi, I have got as far as my mobile speaking to my laptop but when it tries to connect it disconnects. What am I doing wrong? I have spent ages on this but to no avail.

My icon for my mobile in on my laptop.

My com port seems to keep changing (i think). I have looked at all the articles but still am failing miserably. I am off to America tomorrow morning and wanted to be wireless for my new business. If anyone can help would love you forever.

Any help or guidance would be gratefully received.

I use a Belkin Bluetooth PC card F8T002 and use windows XP operating system with my normal internet being broadband operated by BT.

Hi,

I had a lot of problems getting my laptop to talk to the 6310i. First of all, the phone is not going to behave unless it has a firmware level of at least 5.50 (check by *#0000#). Nokia changed their BT at that point to make it somewhat more standard -- it still has a few problems though.

The Belkin/Widcomm software may be a problem too; if you have the v1 dongle it is ancient and not really updated properly; the v2 is a lot newer, but still may have problems with the 6310i.

The best BT stack I found was here: http://www.ivtcorporation.com./products/bluesuit/index.htm
and although it is an "evaluation" version it seems to work brilliantly, much better than Widcomm. Give it a try (but first you will need to un-install your existing software).

Good luck!

The evaluation version is limited to 2MB of data transfer. Does anyone know of a product using this stack?

Also, if you have the latest widcomm (which is possible with the F8T001 v2) then it should work with an updated phone.
