I am looking at getting one of these units and I have two questions, neither of
which I can find answered in the sales literature (nor in browsing this forum).

1) Can I hook the unit up to an external monitor (my old HP Jornada does
this)?
2) Can I use the Bluetooth keyboard from my PC to type text onto the PDA?

Thanks!

Hello!

1) No, you can't.

2) Not at the moment. There's no Pocket PC with the required HID profile. OTOH ThinkOutside announced a royalty free Bluetooth keyboard HID driver/software, but it may take sometime until this is available from manufacturers.

Hm, well, thanks anyway. Do you know of a way to wirelessly transmit a video signal? If, for instance, I have a DVI TV/monitor, can I set it in my living room and somehow transmit a video stream from my computer, perhaps with WiFi adapters?

I'm looking for this myself... The only things I can find are prototypes and "ideas". Some companies "launch" a product, but they're not available in the market for the next six months. Shame really.

RadioShack.com has an item that does this, but it is an analog system for A/V devices...I am waiting for something from the PC industry that is digital and standards-based (WiFi, presumably). Shouldn't be long before video and printer signals are all WiFi as they certainly *should* be (I think I've seen wireless printers already).

You can view the RadioShack item here, although it's presently out of stock:

Another 2.4Ghz device? When the cordless phone is in use the wi-fi stops here. It doesn't affect my Bluetooth devices though.

I wonder what would happen to wi-fi points around the house if this device is use. Or what do you get if your cordless rings. Or the microwave is on for the popcorns...
