I just got an O2 xda mini s, but i've been having some trouble with the bluetooth.
Here's the good part, When I turn on the bluetooth, other devices are able to detect me.
Now the bad part.
(i)Other devices cannot send files to my phone via bluetooth.
(ii)I CANNOT detect any devices even if they are properly turned on.
(ii)I dont even have the option in the "right click" options to send files via bluetooth.

So if anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how I can resolve this problem, please let me know.
I'd really appreciate any help I can get as I am not familiar with any of these types of phones.

Peace.

Welcome to Geekzone... To receive files on your O2 xda mini, make sure the Beam Receive option (in Connections) is checked. However I'd have that off unless needed, because it also turns on the Infrared, which drains battery.

To send files via Bluetooth, find the file you want and tap and hold ("right-click"). You should select "Beam". The first search is for Infrared, then it will list other Bluetooth devices around you.

Welcome Maserati...The Bluetooth device should have come with drivers, if not you should look for these in the manufacturer's site, or return these and get a new one. Since this is not related to the original topic, if you need to continue the discussion, please open another thread.

First off, thank you for the reply and the welcome. And I did as you said but still its not working, I turned on the beam option but when I try to beam a file only the infra option is available, it doesnt show any bluetooth device even though I have a properly working bluetooth device turned on. So is there anything else I should do?

P.S. I was wondering, shouldn't there be a "send via bluetooth" in the "right-click" option box. I ask this becasue my brother has a Xda IIs and it has that option.

I understand you are trying to send files from your Pocket PC to another PC or PDA? Is the other Bluetooth device simply ON, or ON and DISCOVERABLE?

As I said before, if sending files from your Pocket PC then you should tap-and-hold the file name and select BEAM. This will look for infrared devices and then for Bluetooth devices.

If your PC is not discoverable or is not configured to accept File Transfer (PIM OBEX File Transfer) then nothing will be sent.

Now I can recieve files that are sent by other devices(After turning on the beam and bluetooth) but still I am unable to discover any devices(which are turned on and in discoverable mode) when I try to beam files from device.
You mentioned something about configuring to accept file transfer, can you please explain in detail how I can do that.

Edit: Something else I realise is that there is no "New outgoing port" option in com ports tab in the bluetooth settings. Is that how its suppose to be?

Really appreciate any suggestions you can give.
Thanks
