This may have been asked before but I couldn't locate this specific question. I'm using the TDK PC Card on a laptop (now upgraded to Widcomm 1.4.2.18) and want to connect a MS Mouse. I can get the mouse to connect to the laptop with no issues - all works as expected.

Question is - why doesn't the TDK reconnect the mouse automatically like the MS software does after startup or resuming from standby/hibernate? My desktop PC with a MS dongle and the MS software handles this with no problem, so I know it's possible. Is this just a shortcoming of the Widcomm stack? And if so does anyone know if there are plans to addres it?

TIA,

Tom

My mistake - it DOES work!! I had tested this with the previous version of Widcomm v1.4.1.x and it didn't reconnect, had assumed it was the same but it works PERFECTLY in this version. Finds the mouse a couple of seconds after resuming.

Does this mean I can now replace the MS stack on my desktop PC with the latest Widcomm (still using the MS dongle) and be able to use the other bluetooth profiles? Has anyone done this successfully?? Experiences?? Is there a trick to getting the TDK-branded Widcomm to install with the MS dongle???

I also find that the MS stack (assuming it's the stack) often loses connection to the MS keyboard, though the mouse continues to work fine. Getting the keyboard back usually requires that the keyboard is deleted and the pairing process is repeated. Any thoughts on whether Widcomm stack would improve on this?

Thanks again all,

Tom

Tom, I'm running an old TDK beta version (1.4.2.1), and with that I found the mouse to be slow in responding to movements. I've downloaded the TDK 1.4.2.18 to use with my TDK USB adapter but haven't installed yet. Do you feel the mouse works fine in terms of response?

You can use the Widcomm software with your Microsoft USB hardware, but some hacking is needed. We don't have the information here, and that was discussed before. You can find this somewhere in other forums.

I find the response to be fine with v1.4.2.18 - I even tried connecting a mobile phone at the same time as the mouse to see if it caused any lag... I didn't notice any. ;-)

As for the MS dongle w/ Widcomm stack, I may give this a try at the weekend when I have some time.

Thanks for the reply,

Tom
