I am using a Belkin N150 Wireless Router F7D1301AU model and just got a TP-Link TL-WR841N from a friend, I am trying to extend the range of our network, after searched on the internet, I found that I can bridge these 2 routers.
In the Belkin router's admin page, there is no option about WDS or Bridging, but under wireless there is a option says "Use as an Access Point", if I enable it, it only ask me to specify the LAN IP address and subnet mask.
In the TP-Link router's admin page, under Wireless->Wireless Settings, there is an option to enable WDS.
I have tried:
1.Keep Belkin as my Root router, keep DHCP enabled, and configure WDS on TP-Link router, disable DHCP on TP-Link. Result: computer can connect to TP-Link, but it shows no connection between TP-Link to Internet under Windows 7's Network and Sharing Center.
2.Configure TP-Link as my root router, keep DHCP enabled, and enable Access Point on Belkin router. Result: computer can connect to Belkin, no connection between Belkin to Internet.
Sometimes after the setup, the router I use for as an access point, doesn't let computer to connect, in DOS command line, ipconfig, it shows some random IP address, 255.255.255.0 as subnet mask, no default gateway ip address, so I have to reset the router.
Please help.
