I'm gonna buy a bluetooth dongle, but I'm not sure what I need to know exactly..
will an RF channel 79 work in NZ? or should I avoid that?

All Bluetooth devices use frequency hopping in the 2.4GHz band, also called ISM. This is a non-regulated band, and any Bluetooth device will work in New Zealand.
