Hi Everyone

Any chance someone could give me some assistance with setting up my routers for a Hidemyass VPN?

Given my extreme "lack" of knowledge with this sort of thing it has become a bit confusing...

I have Apple TV that I am trying to connect to Netflix and so far I have managed the following.

1. Apple TV jailbroken with ATVflash(black) installed
2. Purchased a Linksys e4200 router and installed DD-WRT (not sure if it is working though)
3. Signed up with Hidemyass

I am now wondering how I connect all of these things to make them work?

Does anyone know of a link or you tube clip that would be able to take me through what to do next?

I have plugged the E4200 router into the WAG310 but it is not getting internet do I need to change something on the WAG for the E4200 to work? or do I have it plugged in the wrong connection? WAG ethernet port to E4200 Lan/Wan port?

Hoping someone will be able to give a person who may have jumped in the deep end of the pool without learning swim first a hand...

Cheers

Andrew

Just create an OpenVPN client on the Linksys E4200v1 and you should be fine.
I wouldn't use PPTP as it's less secure and requires IPv4 protocol 47 which can be 'painful' to set up on a NAT/Port forward setup using CRAP Linksys WAG modems. That said I have a WAG120N and it port forwards PPTP to/from my PPTP server without any problems.

You just need to port forward IP 1194 from your WAG310 to the Linksys E4200v1 when using OpenVPN.

If you signed up with Astrill you would be able to route your entire connection through using the built in tool DD-WRT has. However, as I am typing this I remember freitsam saying astrill's IP is blacklisted with either Netflix or Hulu... cant remember which one.

I noticed it was blacklisted with Amazon. This means no buying Amazon US-only Kindle books, and no Amazon Instant Video if using Astrill.

When did you notice this?  I'm with Astrill and have no problems with Amazon.

Every time after logging to Amazon via Astrill I'd get an email saying "please change your password, your account might be victim of phishing"... I had to reset my password every time. Don't have this problem with WiTopia.

Hmmmm strange never had that.  Wonder if it was to do with Astrill server you used.

Has anyone had any issues with Hide My Ass?

Cheers
