Heya,
I've been trying to set up a network between 2 winXP desktop PCs to share a broadband connection, and cant seem to be getting anywhere.

I can get them to 'talk' to each other, and can send files between them but cant seem to get the internet going.
The dongles are class 1 and are made by X-Micro.

I have followed all the guides I could find. They were all pretty much the same thing.
I just dont think im entering the correct settings.

I have left the settings on the client computer alone. So they're set on 'Obtain Ip adress'

But its the settings on the winXP that aren't right.
What settings are needed for:
(1) The Broadband,
(2) The bluetooth adapter.

Everytime I enter different settings on the host computer, the internet stops working. I saw this problem on another post and it said something about DHCP? But I don't know how to find that on winXP as there doesn't seem to be any Tabs for it under any of the settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Mike

ICS requires a special address, 192.168.0.1, to be used. If this address is already setup in your modem or router, then the conflict will cause the disruption in your network.

With XP one option is to use Bridge. Have you tried it?

I read about bridging but never paid any attention to it.
How do I go about it??

I know about the IP 192.168.0.1 but where do I put that?
On the broadband modem, or bluetooth adapter??
Do I need to enter settings on both of the above??

And also, when both PCs are connected and I go to right click on 'Host Network Access' on the client PC, there is no option to create a shortcut and I cant view any files or anything?

Thanks very much,
Mike
