I am a CE developer. I need to connect my iPaq 2215 to my desktop. I did it using USB and set up a profile and that all works fine.
I also have a tabletpc which has bluetooth. The desktop and tablet are both connected to an ethernet network. I set up bluetooth network access on the tablet and that all works great. I shared my ethernet network on my tablet to the bluetooth network access.
I CAN connect to my tablet from the 2215 and have internet access on the 2215. I also have IIS web server running on the desktop and I can browse those web pages from the 2215. This tells me that the network connection itself is working fine between the 2215 and the desktop via the tablet using bluetooth.
The problem is activesync. I have set up the 2215 activesync to use the BT network access and manual sync to the pc. I have set the WINS address on the 2215 to be the desktop's ip address.
When I hit the sync button on the 2215 after having connected using BT and even having tested it by browsing to the IIS web pages on the desktop, it won't connect. I get an error message saying that network communications to the desktop could not be established.
Any ideas? I have searched all over the internet without success. I called HP and they have no idea. I cannot use my tablet for development because it is too slow. I can use USB, but it would be much more convenient to use the BT connection because then I don't have cables. Besides, it will be cool if I can get this to work.
Thanks for any help...
