the omron ly1n could be switched direct from the fibaro by just getting the correct coil voltage so need to fibaro/relay/another relay. omron do a smaller single pole version too ( it think its the G2R or similar.) again available in different coil voltages that would fit in a flush box.
edited again sorry.... the g2r comes in plug in and pcb solder in versions.... G2r MIGHT solder in in place of the failing fibaro relays???
Thanks Floydie - yep, so a 240VAC coil relay capable of switching about 10A at 240VAC should be plenty I think - hook that up between the Fibaro relay and my lights/drivers. The Fibaro runs on 240VAC so will signal the Omron which will handle the inrush...all this just so my lights switch on at night when the sun goes down...;)
this may sound counter intuitive but relays can also jam because of too LITTLE current as most are designed for the arc to clean the contacts. if there isnt enough current then the contacts carbon up and then they jam just like an overload situation. Not sure the G2Rrating but i use the L1yn and they are super reliable. i use them and the Ly1n in situations where they are switching single phase motors that pull about 6 amps, and they last about 4-5 years with switching about 200 times a day
For an inductive load, the G2R1S will do 7.5A. More importantly, it will switch (handle an inductive arc) from 1875VA or 150W. The minimum load required is 100mA. Below that it will not fail, but the contact will not close reliably (it needs current to keep the contacts clean).
