I've got the hb2 and it doesn't have battery backup, I bought the version with the extra battery unit included.

For the hb3, one option is Ethernet to wifi bridge with the only downside is needing 1 extra power port and the cost of the bridge.

I am heavily invested in the Ring ecosystem for five years, and recently I was quite surprised to find out that Ring (Amazon) is willing to commit software security updates for all generations, at least until 2027.

kiwifidget:

Despite the backtrack from Arlo I am still considering changing over to Eufy, and probably the Homebase3 system. What exactly is troublesome about it?

As a guess it's probably to do with giving the CCP access to your video or the incident that allowed anyone to view it

Or maybe even the bit about local-only video storage actually going to the cloud

Handle9: This seems to be a prime CGA opportunity. They are expensive cameras and it’s not reasonable to remove the functionality that they were sold with.

I’d go back to the retailer and start the process.

This sort of issue seems to be becoming more common with different cloud based systems like this. The question is how long should they be expected to last.
