I can see it now. :) In fact, the Apple Online Store is also available in NZ now! Cool

I've just noticed Apples press release.

I'm just resizing your images to be more 'bandwidth' friendly too.

Edit - how do you switch to the NZ store? I can see the list (posted above) on both Itunes for windows and mac.

I used the country list at the bottom of the Itunes page. NZ is on there.

Finally, Apple products prices are more in line with other countries like Australia. I just checked out the online Apple Store, and iPods are now much cheaper than they were when Renaissance sold them. iPods start from just NZ$449 incl. shipping, and iPod Nanos from NZ$249. Smile

cokemaster:  Tony?

OMG... Sorry. I thought of Tony, not sure why... Freudian slip?

I thought it was strange Tony posting a Mac screenshot after his experience with these machines...

Ah, found it - changing to US Itunes store allows you to change to the New Zealand store. They probably haven't updated all their pages (namely the ausi store) yet.

Yeah good for some, I've just bought myself a Macbook (Duo Core 2 - 2GHz) at education prices - which is the same price as the retail price now.... if I bought it now at education prices, it wouldve been $200 cheaper - only received my laptop 2 days ago!

It's probably because you're using OS X.... not compatible... </troll>

So does this mean that Renaissance are no longer responsible for the distribution of Apple product in New Zealand?

It would be nice if aac files played in media center edition (windows media player). I might actually buy music if it wasnt for the knobbling DRM.

could always download DVD Jon's latest offering and strip the DRM out - or just stay with bittorrent until the industry comes to its senses.

I just got a news letter from Renaissance (the old keepers of apple.co.nz) and it makes no mention at all that Apple themselves will be doing the selling of Apple products from now on, it reads like "We're not doing Apple selling online anymore, try one of these resellers of ours."  ... think they may be unhappy.

I wonder what the tax implications are? If it is hosted and transacted outside NZ then no GST and no company tax. Doesn't really 'keep the country working'.

Interesting that in the US tracks are .99cents each which based on current exchange rates converts to approx NZD$1.41 but they are selling them for NZD$1.79. I am sure that NZ will work out to be a nice little earner for Jobs and Co.

I would use it if I could pay in USD.
