a bit more expansion of your question would be more help others answer your question.


I gather you are asking about one of these

If so this is only designed to interconnect 4 phone lines to 6 outlets and is not suitable for data distribution


the module (of the same series) for use to connect a switch to multipule outlets is this one

Thank you, yes I have the 002. Installed by the sparky who said it was a data hub. I guess I need to get them to replace it. I have a Cable into the house going into a router that I want to split into 2 more area's of the home. The aim is to have wifi routers in the areas these feed into to enable wifi throughout the home.

Sounds like the sparky has pointed you in the wrong direction - that won't do data, only distribute phone(s).

As InstallerUFB noted, you need the data module instead, which lets you connect to each outlet individually in a star configuration - the phone module effectively daisy chains the outlets together.

However, your plan is sound - once the data module is sorted, you can then have a switch (or your modem if it has enough ports) at your patch panel, and connect up several APs in different areas of the building.
