Can anyone recommend a good product suitable for simple on/off and dimming functions that is compatible with Amazon Echo?  I have toyed with the Sonoff range but lack of conformity with NZ electrical standards is a deal breaker even thought the prices are super cheap. I have found some RF dimmers online that may work via the Broadlink Rm pro (which I have working nicely with Alexa). Fibaro products look good but soon add up for a house lot. Hardwired or wireless ok.  Thanks.

Belkin wemo switches? Can be had on special for $50ish I think.

I went Fibaro, but you're right, they're spendy.

I would prefer something that can be either installed in the flush box or in line with the light in ceiling space, that way we can stick with PDL switchgear etc

And also I don't think the wemo dimmers are available here yet??  Unless someone can correct me on this?

Short of zwave gear, I can't think of anything that goes into the switch box. Aeotec has a nano switch/dimmer now.

Unless cbus has something.

I am using Insteon switches but Echo support is a bit of a kludge because the international Insteon switches don't have native Echo support. So I emulate them as Phillips Hue bulbs using a Pi running HA Bridge
