Hi all

I've been meaning to get something up and running for ages, been looking at Chinese and local and it all gets a bit confusing.

Any thoughts on these Swann packages?

4 cameras

8 cameras

I can get the 4 camera for $535 and the 8 camera for $740.

I believe 1080p would be enough fro home purposes - while I would like super HD quality it's a balance of price vs features.

Ideally I was looking for POE but I currently have easy access into my roof space due to renovations so not such a biggie to run these cables.

This youtube vid seems to be actual footage from these cameras.

I know there's always going to be something better but is there better for the price?

Thanks.

I've had great success with Reolink ordered direct off Aliexpress.com.  I have a various cameras of theirs and they all work great. The 5MP PTZ is my fav and was controlling it remotely while recently in the US lol - with being able to move and zoom, it can easily replace a couple of cams. For your needs though, it really depends on what you want to achieve and the property you're installing it. Anyway, I'd def go for POE and fewer cameras with higher res than more low res such as the 1080p res.
