Hi.

So with the first virtual CES 2021 does anyone have anything they are particularly looking forward to? There are less than half the exhibitors on offer.

The biggest thing seems like it will be the lack of hands on early impressions you get with the usual coverage.

Bigger issue will be that supply is likely heavily constrained.

The new Sony TV's seem to be moving into some interesting territory?

TV's with more than 1 HDMI 2.1 port would be nice.  Like, maybe put it on ALL the ports?!

Are there usually new product announcements at this event? I'd really like to see Sonos finally unveil their rumoured headphones, and an update to the Garmin Fenix would also be nice.

An announcement that SMR drives have been banned would be nice.

Sonos don't 'do' CES.

They typically rent out a bar nearby and try to get their CI dealers to visit them there...

These virtual tradeshows are full of products that will never see the light of day - more so than normal!

CES is fun, but it's largely dead these days with loads of cheap phone cases / chargers / drones etc.

Lots of product announcements. I have received a load of press releases already but most are not interesting for the New Zealand consumer.

The website works well and I have a few sessions in my calendar but the exhibitors page is a bit of a fail as it lists 1,300 companies with nothing except their logo and name. No description of products or services and unless they change it when it opens to the public, no link to their websites either.

TCL seem to trying to drag 8K into the mainstream market - their current 8K set is around $7K here so I'd be keen to see where this hits.
