Does anyone know if the Mighty Ape 'Smart Ape' hardware works with Home Assistant?

It's really well priced and I assume it's just a Chinese import stamped with a MA logo, but I want some that work with Home Assistant

It'll be Kogan probably. Haven't used it personally but might give it a try.

Yeah, certainly looks it:

Vs

We have quite a few of the Kogan Smarter Home items (including this gorgeous ‘galaxy and star projector’ my son bought recently - https://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dn/buy/kogan-smarterhome-galaxy-star-light-projector/) - primarily bulbs - and they’re generally ok, though the high-pitched whine of the smart bulbs we have in one room (whether the bulb’s on or off) can be annoying.

We just use GA for controlling them so can’t comment on whether they work with HA though a quick google suggests there are ways, eg https://community.home-assistant.io/t/integrate-kogan-smarterhome-products-into-ha/66226

It looks like they're controlled by the Smart Life app. Looks like it might be able to work with the Tuya integration https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/tuya/

Yep, already provided a link to a thread that discusses the use of Tuya!
