In my home "office", I have a really annoying spotlight bar which I'm going to remove and replace with a single standard light socket.

In doing so, I figured I'd look at a smart bulb solution to use there and probably a couple of other rooms where I want to kill the spots.

I don't want to spend a fortune on bulbs etc, so if I was to look at Bunnings options, is there a preferred brand I should look at there ?

Something in the switch (e.g., Shelly) would probably be better, otherwise it's not a great experience with trying to switch things.

Arlec.

They are Tuya devices, so work with any other Tuya gear. Also bunnings just handle the warranty. when I got about 30 of them I had two die within a month and they swapped them no issues.

Either arlec or brilliant smart are tuya devices, but there are issues grouping between brands in the app, and grouping in alexa leads to some weird things happening when they dont have the same supported options - like with all my workbench ones I can set to colours but I cant set the group back to white - only some change. I have to address them individially since they dont all have the same control of white exposed to alexa or google.

If colours are important to you the wiz ones are much brighter than arlec or brilliant smart.

@richms IIRC you don't have to use 2 apps here (have not experienced Tuya products myself however). So you should be able to pair them both with the Brilliant app and job done.

You can, but they will not group in the app unless they are using the same control scheme - the arlec ones all have their own one which is why they have the arlec logo no matter what app you use. All the aliexpress tuya ones seem to use some from a small group of controls so they seem to group up ok, but not along with arlecs or brilliant smarts or mirabella ones.

Color not an issue, long as its bright and can be turned on/off remotely :)

Cheers
