I know that this is possible with 2017 firmware which then breaks the Elitecloud app, but is it possible to keep the app and integrate HomeKit via home bridge?

See here

The real answer seems to be to get a Paradox Magellan but I'm trying to avoid the need to get a new alarm board as I have just got this one!

Cheers

A

I'm using this: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/custom-component-crow-runner-arrowhead-aap-8-16-alarm-ip-module/130588

Works great to integrate into Home Assistant, I'm not using it for Homekit however.

If you can get it to home assistant the. Exposing that to homekit is east.

There were a few steps there and a new firmware though. Another lighter option than home assistant might be a similar integration with homebridge.

Else konnected have a serial board that replaces, adds on to the connectivity options so that it shows up. Rather than replacing the main board (they also have that option)

Unfortunately the above stops the app working as per my OP. Hence the question.

Do you have a link to the Konnected board? Can it be used without breaking the app functionality?

Thanks

A

Edit: is this it? $104 delivered. https://konnected.io/products/konnected-alarm-panel-interface-module

You’d have to ask if you can run both at once.

Otherwise you’d have to ask your manufacturer if they have a homekit option.

What app functionality are you wanting to keep/use?

The 2017 firmware removes the need to pay the fees, you get remote notifications and arm/disarm via home assistant...

And no you need this if you go konnected: https://konnected.io/products/konnected-alarm-panel-wired-alarm-system-conversion-kit for 6 zones.

The 2017 firmware needs the old board, not the new IoT one that I have.

Will look into the Konnected one. Thanks for the steer. You just need the board in the link and not their alarm board too?

Thanks

Andy

There is a post per link below that shows the ESL-2 APP POD module
Working with 2017.

Really suggest you investigate if konnected will work for you,

I know it works with APP POD, I have the IoT module (https://www.aap.co.nz/shop/Alarm+Systems/Accessories/ESL-2+IoT.html)  which has different firmware, hence this is not a solution for me, unless I get the APP POD and downgrade the firmware, assuming AAP will still let me have it.

Oh and the reason for wanting to keep the app (I know you asked but I didn't answer) is just really because I have found that hacks into HomeKit aren't always as robust as they need to be so it was more to have as a backup if the HomeKit integration fell over.

Konnected will work but it is (relatively) expensive compared to a firmware mod for the IoT module or API access for the Elitecloud app if either of these were available.
