Hi there,

 

where's the best place to buy electronic / robotics parts here in New Zealand? I used to use Sparkfun, but it takes a very long time to ship to New Zealand.

Not NZ based but I've used Robotshop (www.robotshop.com) to buy a third party sensor for Lego NXT.
They're a Canadian outfit.  Took a couple of weeks to arrive and shipping was only $8, compared to most US based organisations who seem to want to charge at least $25 p&p, regardless of how small or light the goods.




Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
