Not sure, but post back if you find out.

This is one neat device.  I had played with the U10 before, and got to use a Clix a couple of weeks ago (mate brought one back from the US)   I liked it so much I ordered one from the iriver store in the US and getting a mate over there to forward the package on to New Zealand

Better review http://reviews.cnet.com/iRiver_Clix_2GB/4505-6490_7-31861628.html than the iPod Nano!

I saw the Clix in Singapore during the Windows Vista Lab session on multimedia. What a device... If there's a distributor in New Zealand I want to know too!

I'd love to find a clix too.  I've got a U10 and a 2GB U10 with album art and some extras would be absolute perfection in my mind.

They are available in Australia now AU$299, Dick Smith is probably the best place to buy one, they do international shipping for AU$50. None in stock yet tho.

iRiver Clix 2GB MP3 Player http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/en/product/A4932
AU $299 + AU $50 = AU $349 = NZ $430

Nice, thanks, but does anyone know anything about this company minidisk.com.au? Should I trust them with my hard earned credit card details.

I've bought a minidisc player off them previously, no problems at all.  Delivered to Auckland in about 4 days.

Damn I've caved in.  I ordered a Clix from minidisc.com.au on Monday, they shipped it the same day.  Now I'm just drumming my fingers waiting for the thing to arrive...

I expect I will be doing the same thing shortly.
Let us know what you think of the Clix when you get it.

Received this morning, no probs.  In summary: ordered from Minidisc.com.au on Monday at about 10am, received by 9am Thursday.

  • It's freaking beautiful.
  • I've used a U10 before, and the interface on the Clix is heaps better.  Faster, more intuitive, more options.
  • Syncs with Windows Media Player 11 with no issues.  I use star ratings quite a lot to tag my favourite songs, and the ratings sync back to WMP11 no problems.
  • Album art is cool and works well if you have it in WMP11.
  • In addition to 2x, 4x and 6x FFWD speeds, they've added 30x and 60x, so fast-forwarding through big podcasts is no longer an issue like it was on the U10.
  • It's freaking beautiful.
Happy to answer questions.

Minidisc is brilliant! I ordered an iRiver H320 off them about a year ago or so and couldn't be more happy with their service. Absolutely recommend using them as a Kiwi - i didn't even have to pay the NZ GST on import!

Correct.  If the GST is less than $50 customs will not ping you for it.  Minidisc.com.au appear to always put AU$100 on their packages as the value, which should be OK in most cases, but be careful.

I HAVE been pinged for GST before (importing a $600 radio control transmitter), but luckily the landed price + GST was still hundreds of dollars cheaper than the local retail.

Hi

I was wondering if the accessory pack or the cradle be worth getting?
