OK.

I was looking at an old classic called "Riddle Of The Sands" by Erskine Childers (an excellent pre-WW2 spy novel).

Kindle Store lists no less than 9 editions ranging in price from 99c to $8.75.

Since none are abridged, one may assume that they all have the full text.

What I cannot easily work out, therefore, is what I would get in the $8.75 version that I would not get in the 99c version. There seems to be no obvious place to find that out on Amazon and so I wondered if anyone here might know if I am missing some obvious way of comparing them?

It is probably a novel out of copyright by now so people charge what they want fir the "service" of making it available

Have you searched for it in Project Guthemberg just un case it is really free of copyright now?

Some are likely to have better headings and layout than others. This will tend to depend on the publisher and edition rather than the price directly. The introduction (distinct from preface) and other supporting features may also differ. Amazon has a read first chapter feature which might be useful.
