Hi All,

I've got a Kobo from Whitbcoulls as a gift from my lady and I love it. The only problem is whitbcoulls ebook store don't have a lot of books. I tried Barbes & Noble but it seems won't work for NZ customer. Will Amazon ebook store sell ebook to NZ?

I'v bought books from www.kobobooks.com
They're a bit cheaper than whitcoulls too.
Don't think books from amazon will work on kobo reader.

Amazon only sells Kindle format books - so no you can't read them on your Kobe - you really need to look at the availability of books before you chose a reader - not the other way around

There are plenty of sites to get epub books from.

Calibre has a great search tool for finding books

Kindle format books will only be of use if you always own a kindle.

You can read Kindle books on any web-browser or using the Kindle app on iPhone, Android, Mac or Windows - I know I have to do it all the time since my partner stole my Kindle

I was buying and reading Kindle books using Kindle for Android and Kindle for iPhone, long before I bought a Kindle.

I like how it "remembers" where you are up to between devices too so you always just pick up reading from the last page!

To the OP:

Buying from Barnes & Noble is relatively easy. First, you need a valid US address to put in their system (google should be your friend here..), and a US IP address.

B&N will happily accept international credit cards for buying ebooks.

You can use a proxy or VPN service to get a US IP address. You only need the US IP when purchasing. Once purchased, books can be downloaded from anywhere in the world.

The Kobo cannot (as far as I know) currently read books "protected" by B&N DRM -- but the DRM is easy to strip from the file, and the epub doesn't need to be converted to read on the Kobo.
