I'm considering moving to XT with my iPhone 3G, but just wondering is the IPCC file on here exactly the same as going to www.unlockit.co.nz and installing it through there?

Will that still give me the XT logo?

I noticed also that above the APN has been changed to internet.telecom.co.nz whereas on unlockit it's wap.telecom.co.nz - does this make a difference to anything?

Yes the files do the same thing. the unlockit.co.nz file was updated yesterday to the same settings as nzbullets one. They are the same files except I repacked the file removing the .DS_Store and __MAX_OS directories which nzbullets have which are not needed. (hint for nzbullet to fix this on his version:-) )

Hi.. can I make some suggestions:

Bookmarks -> http://pdaportal.telecom.co.nz is the official pda/smartphone site for Telecom NZ
MMS-> Proxy should be 210.55.11.73:80 port 8080 works, but is not the normal setting!

Going to unlockit.co.nz the APN is still showing as wap.telecom.co.nz whereas it seems like others on here are using internet.telecom.co.nz as their APN. Is there a reason for this difference and does it make a difference to anything?

pdaportal is already there Under Settings>Phone>Telecom NZ Services (it only works over 3G btw not over wi-fi)

I am using 8080 as iPhone OS 3.0 uses MMS2 not MMS. Port 8080 is used for MMS2

Maybe a silly question...forgive me...but can you have more than one carrier file loaded onto Iphone. For example I have the XT ICPP loaded up from here and rocking along nicely. If I put a voda sim into the phone then I assume the settings will all be wrong and the phone needs a Vodafone Carrier file to work? Perhaps the phone already has this (given it was bought from Vodafone) but wanted to know if I installed the Vodafone Carrier File (that includes the logo and MMS/Teethering upgrade) will this over write my XT one and I will need to keep reinstalling or will changing the SIM Card be enough to tell the phone which carrier file to use?

From my understanding you can only have one carrier file - which ultimately controls your data usage. You can have it on Telecom using that data file for internet etc, and you can still use your Voda sim. The only thing will be that your Voda sim will only work for calls and texts, not internet etc. For that you will have to change the carrier settings again.

Thanks for the reply...I actually bit the bullet and tried to see what would happen and I put a Voda SIM in, connected to Itunes and it updated the Vodafone Carrier settings (official via apple) so had MMS, Teethering and everything working on Voda Network. Took out voda sim and put in XT sim again and it automatically knew to use XT carrier settings so seems like you can have mutliple carrier files installed. I guess the only untested is if trying to install an unofficial voda one (with logo etc)..it might be that the unofficial files sit in the same place??

Each of the Carrier files has in it what Sim Cards they work with so if you put in a new sim card it will look for this file and get the settings from it. There are lots of default ones on the Iphone and they can be updated via itunes (either officiall or unoffically)

I now have a non-jailbroken, black 16GB iPhone 3GS on Telecom XT network in working order!
