You can top up the account, but you can't select the extra data package ($6 for 50mb) - you need to do that by txt

ahemphill99: Ok - so I have purchased a new?2 degrees sim card, charged it up with the $6 for 50mb deal, chopped?the Sim?up to fit into the Ipad - all works a treat. Performance on the 2?degrees network is pretty good in Wellington.

My problem is that to charge up the sim with another 50mbs for $6 - I need to text 2 degrees, which of course you cant from the Ipad -?and now the Sim won't fit back into my phone. Would be ideal if you could select the data plan from 2 degrees web site, but you can't.

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Thanks
Andrew

We're aware of this issue and have several things under development to deal with it. There are three iPads here belonging to key staff including mine, so trust me, it's a topic very near and dear to our hearts.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

Well, I have finally got mine. There appears to be no stock around the Melbourne CBD, with JB Hifi telling me to "call every day and get my butt down there if they have received any stock", Myer having a sign up informing that they're out of stock, and Dick Smith telling me that it's impossible to buy them anywhere other than online because Apple are focussing the latest supplies on the US market at the expense of Australian retailers.

Last night I called the Apple Store in Chadstone, VIC, and they said that they have a few of the 64Gb in both the Wifi and Wifi+3G versions. Ideally I was looking for a 32Gb with 3G, but I was happy to take the 64Gb with 3G as I can't be too fussy with stocks being so limited and the extra storage may come in handy anyway.

I have to say that shopping in the Apple store is quite an experience. I would have liked to have spent more time there, but I wanted to complete my purchase as quickly as possible as the store was already busy even though I arrived ten minutes after opening this morning and I knew that the remaining stock wouldn't last long.

I got a 64GB wiFi a week or so ago and love it.

I decided to go with the wifi model and use my E71 as a wifi hotspot.

The big benefit for me doing this is that I don't have to have a seperate sim and data account, it all runs through my phone plan (iphone plan so I have 3GB a month data at the moment).

If you are thinking about doing this I highly recommend it.

I am also going to pick up a bluetooth GPS module and hard wire it into my 4wd for navigation duties (my iPad is jailbroken).

3 ways?

1 - jailbreak ipad - i have heard of some success somewhere with people being able to text off ipad.
2 - find a micro-sim adaptor and slip it into another phone
3 - call 2degrees and see if they can help you out by "applying" the add-on

Well I'm fairly sure you weren't first....and let's be clear that you're not offering an Apple warranty, but a "TechCare" warranty. Clicking on more details doesn't provide any.

I realise I must be careful not to make this a commercial post... but I would still like to reply to the above... TechBrands provides a "TechCare" warranty, if any person is interested in more details about that there is more details on the site about the warranty in general, applicable to all products.
