I'm hoping Vodafone releases their 4S pricing before Friday so I can compare with Telecom. Really tempted to just make the switch but would rather have a comparison of both first.

SQLGeek: Come on Vodafone, let us know your subsidies before I sign up with Telecom. Delaying until Friday will only cost you loyal customers.

Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, johnr commented that the information was under non-disclosure.

Not good enough. I'm the customer, NDAs are not my problem. If Telecom can release their pricing, why can't VF?

Right now, seriously tempted to switch.

I just had a looking at Vodafone's iPhone plan for iPhone 4 and found it ridiculous.
Did they change the price? I remember it was different when I got my iPhone 4 with them on a
contract.

jmosen:
I'm a Telecom custoemr for broadband and home phone, so is a print-out from the PDF of my recent bill sufficient?

I have a family member who is interested but currently has no Telecom account. Presumably he'll need some form of ID? How many do Telecom need and what is acceptable for ID? He doesn't drive.

For current account holders like yourself, a current NZ Drivers Licence or NZ Passport would be fine, though there are others as well.  A bill would not be - anybody could theoretically have 'borrowed' your bill, but the photos will (hopefully!) match up.

For your family member, he will likely need 2 forms of ID, best bet would be for him to call the local store and they can talk to him about what he has and what they can accept.

mackiwi: now that telecom is on the Apple bandwagon (with some AWESOME pricing!!) - any chance of some special iPad 3G data plans?

The current $25 for 500MB + $1 per MB after that is a bit steep

The last thing I want to see is a "special iPad plan". The device that you're using should not affect the service pricing at all (apologies if I misinterpreted your wording).

Having said that, lower prices across the board would be great :)

Just brought my white iPhone 4S 32GB from Telecom online, supposedly they will be delivered in 3-5 days (11th to 14th, as they don't deliver on Sundays). Hasn't shipped yet though.

Yes, they changed the pricing a few months ago. I went through this in detail on here a while back, the price on the $45 plan increased from $619 to $999 or so.

Anyone know if the 4S's new HSPA capabilities will provide better speed on VFNZ and\or XT?

It does have HSPA+ but nowhere on the Apple website does it say this. It does 14.4Mbps HSPA+.

My wife will be getting a 4S on Friday (hoping the queues won't be too bad in Palmy). The Telecom plans are looking pretty good, but I wanted to check whether the iPhone performs better on Vodafone or XT? My iPhone is on Vodafone and the 3G internet can be underwhelming at time I seem to recall reading that XT was better. Anyone who has used both want to confirm that XT is better for iPhones? Particularly in Palmerston North?

I live in Feilding but regularly travel to Palmy, signal is worse on Vodafone, both have about the same speeds.

It does not have HSPA+. Nowhere on the Apple website does it say this. It does 14.4Mbps HSUPA.

Never suggested it had HSPA+, knew that much. Either way, will it provide better speed on VFNZ and\or XT?

Or 2gb for $50 - Anyway, let's keep talking about this iPhone thing, and how it's now on Telecom.

Depends on what the network supports, technically it should be neither. Of course, it varies based on network load, etc.
