"Nobody else has got a network that Apple trusts enough to run an iPhone on," Brislen says.

They probably didn't like the statement and called the whole thing off.

You know what? If that's the case, then Vodafone / Paul should man up and let everyone know what's going on. There is no need to waste everyones time over this.

Paul has stated he was misquoted but I do not believe him. I've seen him do it before and I think finally he's being called up on it by a company with the balls to take Vodafone to task.

Apple is very protective of their brand, even more than Vodafone. IF they don't get their way, there's no way.

Using Apple as a cannon ball in the middle of Vodafone vs Telecom war in a cheap shot is not what they'd like to be associated with. Hence why I think this is the problem.

Nothing.

Vodafone Queen St (AKL) has nobody outside it, or didn't a few minutes ago. People are lining up outside Magnum Mac Newmarket and one in the South Island. Small queue outside Vodafone Lambton Quay.

Fanboys starting to queue in the cold and dark morning.
No news on if anyone is even going to be selling it.

That summarises it for you.

Update is:

It is clear to say that Vodafone stores (owned by Vodafone) will not have the iphone 4 today. Between the reports from stores last night and the sign on the window of a Wellington store this morning we can assume this is gospel.

All hopes are pinned on retail outlets like MagnumMac

To be honest, good on Apple, if that is the case. If this is how the cards have fallen, I'm happy to see Vodafone finally get a wake up call.

Sad thing is, their silence just seems to show they haven't learnt any lessons. Vodafone is obviously willing to waste their customers time, keeping people in the dark, which shows just how much they really care.

TV News cameras want to be there at 9am to film the opening. I can see it now "Excitement turns to anger as customers riot" Great telly!

Just got back from Vodafone Chartwell and it's a no go.

Signs up on the rollerdoor - "We will not be selling the iPhone 4 today, However we're still selling 3Gs's."

:(
