There are a lot of smart phones out there a lot cheaper considering a lot of us only use them to text and make calls rather than have them as a fashion accessory.
I actually hardly use mine at all for phoning or texting. It is mainly uses for internet only, and apps, and I think many will use it this same way. That said I wouldn't spd more than $500 on a phone ad then will expect it to last 3 years and get software updates. I recently purchased an andoid phone on spcial for $30, on clearance from $150 and it is actually pretty decent, and runs all th latest apps, and good as a backup device. Only issue is the diskspace on it, 8GB but I have put a memory card init. It also has a headphone jack and replaceable battery.
