Finding I'm pressing the home button a lot on iphone6, and worried will wear it out.

On ipad with ios5 I use 4 fingers on screen and close towards my thumb and applic closes, this doesn't seem to work on iphone how ever.

I've turned on assistive touch, which puts a transparent home button on screen, but it would be less messy if there was a gesture that could do it,

Thanks.

Simple answer - no there is no easy way but you also don't need to as apps don't really run in the background. If people looked at the open apps on my iPhone 5s they'll likely cringe, put the phone down and step away slowly but it works absolutly no problems, just close apps if they stop responding.
